Tammie and Mark Pt 2

For my sister's second weekend, we took them to Wellington for a tour of the sights. The fun part of the trip was the van we had to hire (rent) to move all six of us around the city. I promptly parked too close to a light pole and needed help from strangers to get free of the pole.
Another visit to Welly. Tammie and her favorite brother.

Our first stop was Mt Victoria. It has a great view of the city and was a filming sight for Fellowship of the Ring. We were excited to show our guests the Roxy, which has become a requirement for us when we visit Wellington. Later in the afternoon, we rounded out the LOTR experience with a visit to the Weta Workshop.

A visit to the Roxy movie theatre to see Minions.
Tammie meets Lurtz at the Weta Workshop
The man who makes 600 dumplings daily at Auntie Mena's restaurant. A vegan favorite in Welly.

To see more of Peter Jackson's impact on Wellington, we visited the WWI exhibition at the old Dominion Museum. The last time we visited (on ANZAC day), the ANZAC side of the exhibit wasn't yet open, but it is now and the miniature model of the battlefield is something go see. As usual, another great trip to Wellington.

All too soon, it was time to say goodbye to our guests. We went out for dinner on their last night and took them back to the New Plymouth airport the next day. It was tough to see them go, but we really enjoyed their visit.
